It is with a heavy heart that we acknowledge the passing of our dear friend, Paul "Doc" Nicelli, on October 24, 2008. Doc was a legend in New York youth basketball. He established one of the first AAU programs at Madison Boys and Girls Club in Astoria. Over many years, Doc coached and mentored hundreds of high school kids through his Student Athletes Broncos program - a program that my late husband, Doug Gardner, proudly supported and championed during his life. Doc's colorful presence and loving commitment to the kids under his charge will be sadly missed, but never forgotten. Our deepest condolences go out to Doc's wife, Sandy, their daughter, Nicole, and Doc's brother-in-law, Joe Sigismondi.
